Furniture design for the Teatro Alberti bar
The show isn’t just on the stage – it also extends to the furnishings of the bar of the Teatro Alberti. The venue was built inside a former church which dates back to the 15th century, later transformed into a theatre in the 19th century and then a cinema post-WWII. Now, the venue plays host to conferences, events, weddings, concerts and musical shows, and so required an interior architecture that could do justice to its centuries of history.
This breathtaking location was furnished by i-Design according to the plans drawn up by the architect Riboli, who took inspiration from the cafés chantants of Paris, where patrons could dine whilst taking in a cabaret or a concert.
The planning of the décor of the bar included the wall coverings and the creation of the furnishings, such as the bar counters, reception desks, sofas and tables. All of these components were finished by hand and made entirely in Italy.
